Dive into the dynamic world of THE HIVE, a tv comedy-drama series set in Santa Fe, New Mexico, “The City Different”. Old West meets the 21st century as a four-hundred-year-old, melting-pot community navigates these politically and ecologically uncertain times with humor and hope. Like a bee hive, it’s just trying to survive.

The story’s catalyst, Mel Durant, a local legend and passionate beekeeper-naturopath, runs a wellness center that, for years, concealed her illegal safe house for young, undocumented border crossers. Mel’s left the underground for a quieter life, but the unexpected arrives for her and her wild, surrogate family: a Mexican curandera (fertility/sexual healer), Santa Fe’s overextended Anglo mayor, a conflicted Navajo medicine man, his rapper nephew, and an irascible Spanish ghost.

Infused with the magical realism of one of America’s oldest Hispanic and Native communities, THE HIVE is an immersive series with themes of home, family and sanctuary. Fueled by the mesmerizing sound of bees, protest rock, Native and world music, the show explores how we can live in our increasingly divided but interconnected world with humor and humanity.
